Resort Resturants Easy to Get to From Magic Kingdom
One of our favorite things about a visit to Walt Disney World is that whether you're visiting the Magic Kingdom and/or Epcot or staying at one of the Magic Kingdom Resorts you have an amazing array of delicious dining just a monorail ride away. Because of their speed and frequency of service, Disney's iconic monorail system makes it easy for guests to nip out of the parks for an hour or two for a relaxing meal or end your day with a delicious dinner at some of Disney World's most iconic properties. To provide you with a bit of dining inspiration, here is a handful of our place for monorail dining.
Ohana – Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
This restaurant has always been a favorite with Disney regulars and it's easy to understand why. This much-loved Table Service eatery is located in the Main Ceremonial Hall at Disney's Polynesian Village resort which is brimming with tropical vibes. Those dining at Ohana for breakfast are treated to delicious dishes with an island twist as with the opportunity to mingle with some of your favorite Disney friends including Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and more! For dinner 'Ohana offers a wonderful Hawaiian themed banquet. Though you won't find characters for the evening meal, guests will enjoy storytelling, games, mouthwatering dishes and more! Highlights of the menu include (my favorite) oak-grilled shrimp as well as sweet and sour chicken. Being one of Disney's most sought after dining reservations, nabbing a spot for either meal can be tricky so early booking is essential.The cost to dine at 'Ohana will range between $35 – 59.99 per adult or 1 Table Service Credit for those on the Disney Dining Plan.
California Grill – Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
If you're looking for a special way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or graduation, California Grill is a really solid option. This restaurant located atop Disney's iconic Contemporary Resort boasts incredible views of the Magic Kingdom. For those lucky enough to get a nighttime dinner reservation you'll even be able to enjoy fireworks views from the private viewing deck with the music from the production piped into the restaurant. Considered one of Disney's Fine/Signature Dining Restaurants, guests can also expect top-notch cuisine with an emphasis on California flavors. Think lots of citrus, sushi and more! The Wine Menu is also incredible making it the perfect spot for those that like a glass of red or white with your meal. Some of my favorites entrees include the 21-Day Aged Prime Kansas City Strip Steak as well as the Ahi Tuna with Udon Noodles. Guests can expect to pay $60+ per adult to dine here or 2 Table Service dining credits. Early booking is essential and can be made at 407.WDW.DINE.
1900 Park Fare Monorail Dining -Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
I'm surprised at how consistently underrated a meal at 1900 Park Fare is, especially considering that is one of my family's favorite places to go for a meal with character! Those with book for breakfast will definitely start the day off right with the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast where you can feast on a buffet filled with your favorite breakfast treats (including Mickey Waffles) while mingling with Alice, the Mad Hatter, Winnie the Pooh, Mary Poppins and more! For dinner, the experience at 1900 Park Fare is hosted by Cinderella and Prince Charming. The buffet is classic cuisine with a carvery that boasts nice cuts of pork and beef. However what really makes this meal character dining experience you won't soon forget is when Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella crash the party! It is a blast and makes for some great photo ops! Dining here is typically in the $35 – $59 per adult or 1 Table Service Dining Credit.
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto – Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
For a drink and some light bites that are on the theatrical side, I can't think of a better monorail stop than Trader Sam's at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Not only do they have some of the most amazing rum cocktails complete with wonderfully kitsch souvenir tiki mugs but it's also a wonderful place to have a quick meal and escape from it all during your Disney getaway! Whether you awaken the tiki gods at the inside bar or chill out to the sounds of the islands with the live bands playing on the terrace you'll definitely feel like you are on a tropical island getaway. There are also fantastic dishes to sample including sushi rolls, fried dumplings, or one of my favorite treats the Kalua Pork Tacos. Trader Sam's is just a short boat or monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom. The restaurant does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan and dishes are usually in the $10 – $15 range. Seating is walk up and the bar is Adults Only!

Victoria & Albert's- Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Having a meal at Victoria & Albert's isn't a meal, it's an event! The ultimate Walt Disney World monorail dining experience Victoria & Albert's is fine dining at it's best. This restaurant has consistently received AAA's five-diamond award, is recognized as Disney World's best restaurants as well as one of the best places to dine in the country. Its refined dress code, limited seating and delicious cuisine will definitely make you feel like the ultimate Disney VIP's. The cost to dine here is well over $60 per adult and is considered by regulars to be the ultimate Disney Splurge but with an 8-course meal that includes options like Caviar, Maine Lobster, and New Zealand Elk, you'll have dining bragging rights well into the future. Nabbing a reservation here is definitely like winning the lotto and booking around the 180-day mark is essential!
Kona Cafe – Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
Confession: Kona Cafe is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Walt Disney World! Just a short stop on the monorail line, the food here is nothing short of fantastic and evokes the beautiful island flavors that really make you feel like you're on holiday. Make a breakfast reservation where you can sip on delicious Kona coffee and tuck into the incredible Tonga Toast which has become a legendary breakfast item among Disney regulars. For lunch and dinner you'll find a range of delicious options from amazing sushi from the open kitchen to treats like the Big Kahuna Burger or Duck Fried Rice with Leg Confit. Dining here will set you back anywhere from $15 – $34.99 depending on the meal or 1 Table Service Credit.
Chef Mickey's – Disney's Contemporary Resort
This classic character dining experience featuring Mickey and friends is perfect for kids and the kids-at-heart. The food is simply standard buffet fare with the real draw here being the character and the chance to dine in the main atrium of the monorail resort with the trains running right into the building! Also with the Contemporary Resort the closest in proximity to the Magic Kingdom, it's a great option for those looking to escape the parks for a fun character-filled meal. Chef Mickey's is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The cost to attend is between $35- $59 per adult or 1 Table Service Credit. As this is one of Disney's most popular Table Service eateries, advanced dining reservations are essential.
Highway in the Sky Dine Around – Various Location
For the ultimate in monorail dining, book your spot for this magical dining experience taking guests to various eateries on the monorail line! Your adventure starts at Dinsey's Polynesian Village Resort where you'll celebrate the spirit of the South Pacific via a delicious array of appetizers and speciality cocktails. Then it's on to the Grand Floridian where you'll enjoy an artisanal selection of cheeses and charcuterie before being escorted to Citricos for a special Chef's main course selection. Afterwards, its off to Disney's Contemporary Resort where you'll enjoy the "Happily Ever After" evening fireworks display while indulging in desserts, cordials and coffee! This special dining experience takes place Monday – Thursday evenings and the cost is $170 per person which includes taxes and gratuities. Reservations can be made online or by calling 407.WDW.DINE.
